Mookaite Mookaite displays a vivid combination of patterns and colors: purple, red, white and yellow. Named after Mooka Creek, it is found only near Western Australia’s Kennedy Ranges. Mookaite consists of the remains of tiny creatures known as radiolaria, which had an unusual skeletal structure of opaline silica. As a jasper mainly composed of crypto-crystalline silica, mookaite’s colors are caused by varying concentrations of hematite/goethite granules. Metaphysically, mookaite is said to slow the aging process and help connect to the earth’s energies. |
