Apophyllite Crystal Cluster

Often found associated with zeolites, apophyllite is a widespread mineral, ranging from colorless through white, pink and reddish-pink to green, commonly taking prismatic, blocky or tabular crystal habit. Outstanding specimens come from Pune and Mumbai in India. Other localities include Brazil, where crystals up to 8” in length are found, Germany, Scotland, Canada, Mexico; and New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Clear apophyllite can help those discouraged spiritually. Green apophyllite assists in reconnecting with nature.

Calcite

The most common form of calcium carbonate, calcite is known for its great variety and development. Highly transparent rhombohedra calcites are known as optical spar, a reference to their use in polarizing filters. Single crystals such as these demonstrate the optical property of double refraction. Although it forms crystals, most calcite is massive, occurring either as limestone or marble. Well known deposits of calcite can be found in Iceland, Mexico, USA, China, and Madagascar. Metaphysically, calcite is used to bring and amplify joy in one’s life.
