XL Bumblebee Jasper Teardrop Sterling Silver Pendant

This vibrantly colored orange, yellow, and black material mimics a bumblebee’s coloring but is not a jasper because it contains no microcrystalline quartz. The yellow comes from sulfur, the orange from orpiment, the black from manganese oxides – and there’s calcite and aragonite in there, too. Formed in volcanic vents from a mixture of lava and sediment, it was discovered in on the island of Java in the 1990s.
