Dendritic Agate

Dendritic agate is a variety of chalcedony featuring tree-like formations of mineral deposits, usually of manganese or iron oxide, that have worked their way into the fine cracks and fissures during its formation. “Dendritic” comes from the Greek word “dendron,” meaning tree, since dendritic patterns often look like multi-branching trees, plants or ferns, Agate has the same chemical composition as quartz but instead of forming whole crystals, it has a microcrystalline structure. To be a true “agate,” the stone must exhibit a pattern or banding, otherwise it is considered chalcedony.  Metaphysically, agate helps with emotional, physical, and intellectual balance, dendritic agate is also associated with grounding and connection with nature
