Emerald Calcite
$18.00
Emerald Calcite from Mexico. The reason they call these “emerald” calcite, as opposed to just green calcite, is their gorgeous bright green hue. The color is natural. The rocks were soaked in an acid to make them shiny and smooth. Approx. 3″ x 2 1/2″. Sold as a group of three. Photo is sample.
Calcite
The most common form of calcium carbonate, calcite is known for its great variety and development. Highly transparent rhombohedra calcites are known as optical spar, a reference to their use in polarizing filters. Single crystals such as these demonstrate the optical property of double refraction. Although it forms crystals, most calcite is massive, occurring either as limestone or marble. Well known deposits of calcite can be found in Iceland, Mexico, USA, China, and Madagascar. Metaphysically, calcite is used to bring and amplify joy in one’s life. |
