Hypersthene
| Hypersthene is a green-ish magnesium iron silicate ranging from bronzy luster to gray and brown. Aka enstatite or ferrosilite, it is a rock-forming mineral that commonly occurs in plutonic and contact metamorphic rocks. Localities for hypersthene are scarce and include the Adirondack Mountains of New York, and Labrador and Quebec in Canada. Hypersthene is a protection stone, said to help stimulate problem-solving and to combat irritability. |
