Larimar is the trade name given to the sky-blue pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. When polished, the stone has a tracery of light veins against a blue background, like the patterns created by sunlight in a swimming pool. This gorgeous gem resembles turquoise, but with a subtle lighter variation in color. Metaphysically, Larimar is a nurturing stone that can assist in reducing self-defeating behavior.
