Picasso Stone

Also referred to as Picasso Jasper or Picasso Marble, this stone is named after the striking black and tan lines that resemble an abstract painting. The patterns are likely the result of the original limestone’s contact with an igneous material that flooded its fractures and metamorphosed the stone to marble. Found in Utah, it is a relatively soft stone (4-5 on the Mohs scale). Metaphysically, Picasso Stone is a grounding and calming stone that assists in the development of creativity.
