Red Coral Branch
$57.00
A branch of precious all-natural (not dyed) red coral from the Mediterranean Sea, harvested sustainably in very small quantities and quite rare. It is a sub-fossil, meaning partially fossilized, as it has maintained some of its original organic structure over thousands of years, rather than having been completely mineralized into a fossil.

Coral Coral is the hard mineralized skeleton of tiny marine animals, composed primarily of calcium carbonate. Red coral from the Mediterranean has traditionally been prized as a gemstone. Now endangered due to overharvesting, nearly all our red coral in jewelry is neutral-colored coral that has been dyed red. Fossil coral refers to prehistoric coral fossilized through replacement with agate, often leaving flower-like patterns in the stone. Fine fossil coral is found in Florida and Indonesia. Metaphysically, coral helps with emotional healing. |
