A branch of precious all-natural red coral (not dyed) from the Mediterranean Sea, harvested sustainably in very small quantities and quite rare. It is a sub-fossil, meaning partially fossilized, as it has maintained some of its original organic structure over thousands of years, rather than having been completely mineralized into a fossil.

Coral
Coral is the hard mineralized skeleton of tiny marine animals, composed primarily of calcium carbonate. Red coral from the Mediterranean has been prized as a gemstone for millennia. Now endangered due to overharvesting, nearly all our red coral is neutral-colored coral that has been dyed red, although we also carry some natural red coral that has been legally and sustainably harvested. Fossil coral refers to prehistoric coral fossilized through replacement with agate, often leaving flower-like patterns in the stone. Fine fossil coral is found in Florida and Indonesia. Metaphysically, coral helps with emotional healing.
