Rosasite is a secondary mineral found in the oxidation zone of copper-zinc deposits. Usually a sky blue to bluish green, it crystallizes in the form of spheres, botryoidal, and in this case, tiny crystals over a reddish limonite matrix. Named after the Rosas Mine in Sardinia, Italy, where it was first discovered in 1908, our rosasite comes from northern Mexico.
