The Shiva eye originates from the Turban shell, a snail that lives in deep tropical seas. This eye serves as a kind of “door” to the entrance of the shell, protecting the snail inside.  Most Shiva eyes are white to rose colored and are easy to detect because of the helix in the middle. After the natural death of the turban shell, the Shiva eye breaks loose and after time washes up on beaches. In Hinduism, it passes as the “third eye” of the god Shiva and forms a positive effect on the energy flow of the human body. For centuries, the Shiva eye has been worn to protect against evil eye powers and to keep the wearer safe.
