Prasiolite
Prasiolite is a transparent, green variety of quartz, also known as green amethyst or vermarine. Its name is derived from the Greek for "leek-green stone," and its color is due to the presence of iron inclusions within the crystal structure. Natural prasiolite is a very light, translucent green, while darker-green quartz sold as prasiolite is usually the result of heat-treating amethysts or irradiating yellow quartz. First discovered in the early 19th century in Lower Silesia, Poland, most prasiolite available commercially comes from Brazil. Metaphysically, prasiolite is considered a stone of heart-centered abundance.
