| Fairy stones from Quebec were historically used by Algonquin Indians for good luck and protection. They are concretions formed underneath glaciers by deposition of calcium carbonate over tiny pebbles and fossils. Aka goddess stones, fairy stones from Morocco are menilite opal concretions. The nodules are light brown to pale grey massive opal, with abundant inclusions of diatoms (themselves composed of opal) from the host rock, with a white chalky exterior of powdery opal. |
