Unakite First discovered in the Unakas mountains of North Carolina, unakite is altered granite composed of pink orthoclase feldspar, green epidote, and generally colorless quartz. It exists in various shades of green and pink and is usually mottled in appearance. Metaphysically, with both colors attributed to the heart chakra, unakite is used to facilitate giving and receiving love. Fine specimens of unakite are found in South Africa, Sierra Leone, Brazil, China, and Virginia. |
